Lately I have found myself aimlessly browsing the internet in the evenings instead of doing something a bit more productive with my time. I used to love reading, and it used to take up quite a bit of my free time, but somewhere along the way I have stopped reading as much as I would like. I blame it on not having time, when really I have time in the evenings to spend reading, but I just sit down in front of the television or my laptop and waste the evening doing nothing. That's why I've decided to take part in Bout of Books 19. I'm hoping it will reignite my love for reading, and I'll also make some new friends to share my passion for reading with.

"The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 8th and runs through Sunday, May 14th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 19 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog." - From the Bout of Books team

To get involved in the read-a-thon, all you need to do is to declare that you are taking part. This can be done through a blog post or even a tweet. You can use the #boutofbooks hashtag throughout the read-a-thon to keep in touch with everyone else who is involved. It's a great way to make new friends, and to keep on track with your own reading goals for the read-a-thon. There are no set rules on how much you should read during the week, and it is a very relaxed. There's no need to feel like you have to read lots of books, even if you only manage one book in the week that is fine. The main idea is to just read more, and enjoy what you are reading.

I'm going to dedicate the week to non fiction reading. I plan to try and read a few books during the week, but if I complete one book that is good enough for me. I can't remember the last time I read a book, and that is terrible. Top of my list is Buffering: Unshared Tales of a Life Fully Loaded by Hannah Hart. I've actually already started this book and have read the first chapter. I am embarrassed to admit that I started this in January, so I definitely need to finish it this week. The second book I would like to at least start this week is Happy Mum, Happy Baby by Giovanna Fletcher. I've heard great things about this book, and I'm a huge fan of the Fletcher family so I have high hopes for this book.

You can keep up to date with how I get on over on Twitter. I'll be sharing my updates with the #boutofbooks hashtag. If I do end up finishing a book, I will be sure to review it once the read-a-thon is over. If you are taking part, I'd love to keep in touch, so please make sure you tweet me!
