BRIO MY FIRST TAKE ALONG SET REVIEW

WE WERE SENT THE BRIO MY FIRST TAKE ALONG SET IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW.

Elise loves anything that moves, so when we were offered the Brio My First Take Along Set for Elise to try out I knew that she would take to it straight away. She plays with a train set at the childminder and if we take her to a toddler group so I knew she would love having her own at home. Plus with it being a carry along set, it means that we can take it when we go on holiday or to see family in Wales.

This is a title image. The title of the post can be seen inside a black diamond in the sent. There is a photo of Elise playing with the product in the background.

ALL ABOUT THE BRIO MY FIRST TAKE ALONG SET

The Brio My First Take Along Set is suitable for children aged 18 months and above so is perfect for when they are starting to play independently and develop their imagination. The set is in a semi circle case with a handle so it is easy to carry. Elise doesn't have a problem carrying it, although she is a little bit short at the moment! The bright colours mean that your child is engaged with the product straight away, and the added wooden tracks means that your child can explore different materials and textures. The set comes with a wooden train and carriage that attach together with magnets. They fit onto some track lines. When you are not playing with the set, it can all be placed inside the case by lifting the red bit in the middle. We found that Elise could do this herself.

Elise has a look of concentration on her face. She is sat down in a child chair with the play set on the table. She is pushing the train up the ramp.

WHAT WE THOUGHT OF THE BRIO MY FIRST TAKE ALONG SET

As soon as we received the train set, Elise was very excited for us to open it. I had to stop what I was doing so that we could play straight away! She loved the little train and carriage, and the fact the carriage has a bell in it so makes a noise every time she shakes it. The pieces are nice and light so she has no problem moving them around. At first she couldn't keep the train on the track, but this didn't bother her. She now has no problem with this. For some reason she insists on putting the set on the chair or table so she makes things a bit harder for herself! One thing that she really likes doing is taking the wooden ramps off and putting them on again. I think this is because she absolutely loves doing puzzles, and in her eyes this is a bit like a puzzle. She enjoyed putting the tracks and train back in the case once she has finished playing too.

As a parent, I love that Elise can play with this by herself, and can set it up by herself most of the time. She sometimes needs help with the wooden bits as she tries to put them on upside down! It is also very easy to store as it is very slim. It isn't super bulky and as it all is contained, no bits get lost. We are excited to add to the set with a bigger track in the future though as Elise has really started to enjoy playing with train tracks now. I think she would appreciate a little bit more track to build and play with!

The train is at the bottom of the ramp and Elise is starting to push it up the hill.

FINAL THOUGHTS ABOUT THE MY FIRST TAKE ALONG SET

We really like the Brio My First Take Along Set and I honestly don't have anything negative to say about it. I think it is the perfect introduction to train sets, and the fact that it is in a carry case is amazing. I know that she will enjoy taking this to Wales when we go and visit family. She is able to set it up herself, and it does entertain her for quite a while. I guess the only negative would be that at 2 she is growing out of it a little bit and wanted a little bit more to it. There is lots of room left in the case so it would be great to see a few accessories to add to the set, perhaps some scenery so she can create a little story.

The train is near the top of the wooden ramp, where the wood meets the plastic.
