SHNOOKS PLUSH REVIEW

WE WERE SENT TWO SHNOOKS PLUSH TOYS TO TEST AND REVIEW

When it comes to toys, Elise gravitates towards toys that have some sort of puzzle to them, or at least a bit of action. I guess they are toys that are more traditionally aimed at boys, and can be found in the boy's section of a toy store. At the moment she refuses dolls and doesn't really play with her soft/plush toys. However, when we were given the option to try out some products from the Shnooks range I thought they might open up Elise's girly side.

ALL ABOUT THE SHNOOKS PLUSH RANGE

The Shnooks plush toys come in flat packaging which states that when you open them they grow 8x the size they are in the packaging. In reality, the toy is just vacuum packed and then goes to a normal size when you open it. Of course to a child this is magical as they don't know the science behind it all. The Shnooks plush's come in a range of colours so you can collect them all, and each of them comes with a comb and different hair accessories. The elastics and clips are pretty small though, so that is why the products are not recommended until your child is three.

If you read my blog, you know that Elise is only two, so we supervise her when she plays with the Shnooks Plush's that she owns. She actually has two, but we are keeping one hidden until her birthday. The toy comes with different shape elastic bands so that you can do the hair of the plush and style it in different ways.

WHAT ELISE THOUGHT ABOUT THE SHNOOKS PLUSH

Elise was very excited when she first saw the Shnooks plush, although she gets excited with any type of packaging. I opened it up and took out the accessories for her, then let her take the plush out of the bag. The toy didn't really grow as much as I was expecting, but it just wasn't flat anymore and was a bit fatter. The hair was very tangled, but that was okay as Elise loved using the comb to try and brush the plush's hair. We had to help her a bit to get the knots out, and some of the hair fell out but it wasn't a huge amount.

We then showed Elise the different accessories that came with it (a comb, 2 hair clips and four styled hair ties) and she wanted to sit on the sofa with us and play with it straight away. Although Elise couldn't tie the elastics herself, she did enjoy placing them on top of the Shnooks' hair and she also enjoyed lying the clips on top too. She enjoyed placing the hair ties on her dad's hair too and calling him pretty.

Since Elise first played with her Shnooks plush, she has gone back to it every day, and has even used the hair ties as bracelets. It has definitely helped her with her imagination and role play. She loves getting it ready for the day and pretending it is her baby.

Elise sat on the sofa with the plush sat in front of her. The plush has her hair in a ponytail and Elise is playing with the hair tie.

WHERE TO BUY THE SHNOOKS PLUSH RANGE

There are 6 different plushes in the range to collect and they can be purchased from Smyths. They retail for £7.99 per plush. I think the price is quite reasonable, although I think that I would prefer for them to retail at around £5 as this is more of a pocket money price. I can imagine that little ones a bit older than Elise would buy this sort of toy with their pocket money as opposed to people thinking about them for gifts.

Have you seen this range before? Would your little one like something like this? I think they are the perfect stocking filler for Christmas, or something they can spend their pocket money on.
