BRIO MY TOWN CAMPING SET REVIEW

If you are a regular reader of A Mundane Life, you will already know that we are HUGE fans of the Brio toy range. We've reviewed quite a few of their toys in the past, including the Light and Sound Fire Truck and the My First Take Along Train Set. Brio toys are incredibly well made, and made to last. We were recently sent the Camping set from the My Town range to try out, and we were not disappointed. Elise was excited to play with it alongside the Fire Truck that we already have, and she hasn't put it down since.

The thing that we love about the Brio toy range, is that they don't just use plastic for all their toys. All their toys have a wooden element to them. The figures are simple wooden figures that are timeless, and can be used with other toy sets. In fact, Elise uses the little wooden figures with most of her other toy sets, and we take them out with us to restaurants so she can play whilst waiting for her food.

BRIO MY TOWN CAMPING SET

Retailing for £29.99, the Brio Camping Set from the My Town range includes the following items:

- Blue Car
- Yellow Canoe
- 2 Wooden people
- 1 Wooden Dog
- Red Camper Van

The Camper van hooks onto the back of the car, and the canoe fits on top of the car when they are ready to travel to their next adventure. Elise loves that the dog fits into the back of the camper van, and that the people can lie down for a rest. She also thought that it was really amusing that the canoe sits on top of the driver's head so that it doesn't fall off. The vehicles in the set are nice and robust and are of amazing quality.

We often take the set out with us, and even just take out the little figures and the canoe. It's amazing how Elise's imagination comes to life with just this one little play set. She loves using the Fire truck alongside the camping set to create whole narratives, and enjoys sharing them with other people. We have had many positive comments from people when we have taken them out and about with us. We even took them to a BBQ and all the children ended up playing with it together rather than the other activities set up for them!

I feel that the toy is worth the price tag. Brio make amazing quality toys, and I have found that they withstand different weather conditions. Elise plays with these everywhere and they are still in like new condition. I think that people may be put off by the price tag at first, but these toys will last and I can see Elise playing with these for a very long time. As they don't have small parts, the Brio toy range are suitable from an early age, with the Camping set suitable for children aged 18months+. I love that they are all bright colours, so are appealing to young children, and they are not your typical blue and pink. We will continue to love Brio toys for a long time, and these will be the toys that we keep just in case Elise has children of her own one day.
